Run this prompt every time you need a prompt and get the exact outputs you need.
I started watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy with my family this weekend. Of course it somehow got me thinking about AI.
We watched the extended editions. Because if you’re going to do it, do it right.
And somewhere around hour three, Gandalf says something that got me thinking about prompting:
“I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udûn.”
The Balrog didn’t flinch because Gandalf mumbled “go away, demon.”
He declared EXACTLY who he was, what power he wielded, and what authority he commanded. Specific. Precise. Unambiguous.
Now think about how most people prompt AI.
“Write me a blog post about productivity.”
That’s not Gandalf on the bridge. That’s a guy whispering “please don’t hurt me” at a fire demon and hoping for the best.
Vague input. Vague output.
You get garbage because you gave garbage.
You KNOW what you want. You can SEE the finished product. The tone. The structure. The way it lands. But you’re asking AI to read your mind instead of declaring your intent with the specificity of a wizard who’s been alive for thousands of years.
No context about your audience. No tone guidance. No constraints. No examples of what “good” looks like.
You’re Pippin knocking a skeleton down a well when you should be Gandalf commanding the mine.
